Womens U20 team lose to Steelers
Wolverines, Butchers, Lions and Bulldogs combined team plays in womens U20 championship under the team name Sharks. After a tough fought battle the visiting Kuopio Steelers was better 28-50.
This was the first ever womens football game played in Söderkulla.
Summary
Steelers started very strong and scored with three first drives. Score was 0-20 before the first quarter was done. Sharks got their game together and QB Aada Salminen scored two back-to-back touchdowns. Lara Olsson fought important tackles in the defensive side of the ball.
Steelers got another hard-fought touchdown just before the half and another in the beginning of the third quarter. Sharks fought until the end, but could not threaten Steelers lead. Final score 28-50.
Steelers was more experienced team and did fewer mistakes. Both teams consisted of players from different clubs and there had been few possibilities for joint practices.
Next game will be against West Coast Phoenix 23rd of April. Last game of regular season will be 30th of April against Tampere Saints.
